Mega Lucario ex doesn't feel like a polite new option from Pulsing Aura. It feels like someone kicked the door open and asked the room to deal with 140 damage right now. If you're building around it, you'll want the list to stay lean, and players who like to tune fast may also look for ways to buy cheap Pokemon TCG Pocket Items while testing different versions. The plan is simple enough on paper: get Riolu down, evolve into Mega Lucario ex, attach Fighting Energy, and start forcing awkward turns from your opponent. In practice, though, the deck asks for timing. You can't just slam every card the second you see it.
Why Mega Lucario ex hits so hardThe main reason people are excited is Fighting Pulse. Ninety damage is fine, but it's not scary by itself. Once Mega Lucario ex has three Fighting Energy attached, that number jumps to 140, and that's when games start bending around it. A lot of basic attackers fold to that cleanly. Bigger ex Pokémon don't always go down at once, but they usually end up in range for the next attack or a small damage push. The 190 HP matters too. It lets Lucario stand in the Active Spot without feeling paper-thin, though you still can't treat it like it's unbreakable.
The early turns matter more than they lookA 2-2 Riolu and Mega Lucario ex line is the usual starting point, and it makes sense. You don't want to clog your hand, but you do need to find the evolution on time. Hitmontop is a nice side piece because it gives you something useful to do before Lucario is ready. That early bench pressure can mess with your opponent's setup, especially if they're trying to hide a low-HP support Pokémon. It's not flashy. It's just annoying, and annoying wins games more often than people admit.
Don't waste your power cardsKorrina is one of the best reasons to play this deck seriously. That extra damage can turn a close hit into a clean knockout, and in Pocket, one missed knockout can swing the whole match. Arena of Antiquity is another strong piece, but players often throw it away too early. If you play it just because it's in your hand, your opponent may replace it before it matters. Hold it for the turn when Lucario is ready to attack and the math actually changes. It feels slower, but it wins more often.
Playing around the big risksThe ugly part is the 3-point penalty. If Mega Lucario ex gets knocked out, you're in trouble. That's why healing cards like Pokémon Center Lady can buy a crucial turn, and even Lucky Ice Pop has a place if you don't mind a bit of coin-flip drama. Psychic decks are the matchup you really have to respect. Mewtwo-style lists punish Fighting Weakness fast, so sitting back and building forever usually won't work. Push damage early, keep another Riolu ready, and don't overattach unless it helps right now. If you're still adjusting your collection or checking item options through services like RSVSR, this is a deck worth practicing because it rewards clean sequencing and bold attacks.
