The first thing you notice in Forza Horizon 6 isn't the scenery or the festival noise. It's the way the cars behave when you push them past 250 mph. The old tricks don't land quite the same now, and a garage built around FH5 habits can feel a bit off. Even players stocking up on FH6 Credits to chase the fastest builds are finding that the leaderboard has changed in a pretty big way. The Koenigsegg Agera RS, once the easy answer for top speed runs, has lost its grip on the crown.
The lower end of the new speed packAt the start of the current top-speed group, the Lotus Evija Forza Edition and the Porsche 917 are sitting close enough that most players won't feel much difference on a clean highway run. The Evija feels strange at first if you're used to noisy petrol monsters. It launches hard, stays planted, and doesn't ask for much drama. The Porsche 917 is the opposite. It feels more old-school, more alive, and a little more nervous once the road stops being perfectly straight. Both can push deep into the 290 mph range with the right setup, but neither has that extra stretch needed to dominate the chart.
The surprise middle runnersMoving up, the Rimac Nevera has become one of those cars people quietly test, then suddenly won't stop talking about. It doesn't always feel like a traditional top-speed machine, but the acceleration is brutal, and FH6's revised upgrade system lets it hold speed better than expected. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport also stays relevant, though it isn't the automatic winner some players hoped it would be. It's heavy, sure, but on long straights that weight almost helps. It settles down, digs in, and keeps pulling when lighter cars start to twitch.
Where tuning matters more than badgesThe real change in FH6 is that badge prestige doesn't carry a car by itself anymore. You can't just grab a famous hypercar, max everything, and assume it'll sit at the top. Gear ratios matter. Aero settings matter. Tyre choice matters more than people want to admit. A few cars that looked average on paper are now punching above their class because their upgrade paths fit the new physics better. That's why players are spending more time testing one-mile pulls, downhill sections, and airport runs instead of copying old FH5 tunes.
The cars worth chasing right nowIf you're building a serious speed garage, don't just chase the name everyone shouted about last year. Try the Evija, the 917, the Nevera, and the Chiron before you commit. Then keep an eye on whatever sits at the very top after the next balance pass, because this meta doesn't feel locked yet. Players who want to experiment with more builds may look to buy cheap FH6 Credits so they can test different cars without selling half the garage, and that freedom makes the hunt for the next speed king a lot more fun.
